RHA injections involve few risks, but you may notice some minor side effects. Some slight swelling, redness, and discomfort can occur after RHA injections, and your injector may recommend a cold compress to help alleviate these side effects. The lidocaine within RHA 4 will also cause temporary numbness or tingling in the treatment area. These side effects should subside within a few hours. After your injections, you may be asked to limit exercise, sun exposure, or cold and heat (such as use of a sauna) for up to 24 hours. You may also be instructed to avoid applying makeup for about 24 hours after your injections, as this could increase the risk of infection. In some cases, patients may also experience bruising, lumps or bumps, itching, or other less common side effects.

A vast majority of RHA patients will see a noticeable improvement in their fine lines or wrinkles immediately after their injections. In addition to smoother skin, the product is designed to move naturally in dynamic areas while remaining firm, stable, and long-lasting.
