Pre & Post Op Instructions for Kansas Cosmetic Surgery

To help you prepare and recover with confidence, we’ve created downloadable pre- and post-op instructions for each procedure Dr. Rieger offers, including breast, abdominal, and facial surgery. These guides are tailored for patients in Wichita, Andover, Derby, and nearby areas. For questions, please contact our office.

General Pre-Op Instructions for All Cosmetic Surgery Patients

All patients undergoing surgery with Dr. Rieger should follow these universal pre-operative steps to ensure the safest and most effective outcome:

Medication & Supplement avoidance

Please review our list of medications and supplements to avoid before surgery. This includes common over-the-counter items that may increase bleeding risk or interfere with anesthesia.

Hibiclens Skin Prep

To reduce the risk of infection, all surgical patients must cleanse with Hibiclens (antiseptic skin wash) the night before and again the morning of surgery. This helps remove bacteria and prepares the skin for a safer procedure.

 Understanding DVT

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a rare but serious risk after surgery. It's a blood clot that can travel to the lungs (PE). Risk factors include smoking, immobility, medications, and prior history. Tell your doctor if you've had DVT.
